The updated Li Auto Mega, a luxury electric minivan from the Chinese automaker, has been spotted with new design tweaks ahead of its next refresh. The most noticeable change is the addition of white aero disc wheels, which replace the previous open-spoke design to improve aerodynamics.
Li Auto introduced the Mega in late 2023. The minivan stands out for its sleek, bullet train-inspired silhouette, a departure from the boxy shapes typical of people movers. A minor update in 2025 followed its debut, and a second revision is now on the way.
Subtle styling changes, major tech upgrades
New images from China’s Autohome show the model retains much of its original design. The front end has received minor chrome accents, while the rear appears slightly refined. Beyond the wheels, exterior differences are minimal.
Under the surface, the changes are more significant. The updated version will include four LiDAR units, an upgrade from the previous setup, and rear-wheel steering to improve maneuverability. The suspension system has also been overhauled, replacing the dual-chamber air setup with a fully active system. This adjustment allows real-time wheel force changes, reducing body roll during cornering and improving stability under braking.
The rear motor now produces 346 hp, up from 328 hp, while the front motor remains at 208 hp. Combined, the system delivers 554 hp. A larger 108 kWh battery extends the Mega’s range to 441 miles on the CLTC cycle.

The added tech could make a difference in comfort and handling. The Mega was already a standout in a segment dominated by practicality over style; now, it aims to balance both.
Pricing and availability
The refreshed model will be offered in two trims: Home and Ultra. The base Home model starts at 529,800 yuan ($78,400), while the Ultra trim is priced at 559,800 yuan ($82,900). No official launch date has been announced, but it is expected to arrive later this year.
Li Auto has not released interior images, though minor software tweaks are rumored. The company previously highlighted the Mega’s family-friendly features, including spacious seating and advanced driver-assistance systems. With the new LiDAR setup, those features are likely to improve.
The minivan’s quirky design has made it a niche favorite in China’s crowded EV market. Whether these updates will expand its appeal is unclear, but it remains one of the more unusual minivans available.
