Lamborghini’s current V-12 flagship, the Revuelto, has a new variant, the 2027 Lamborghini Revuelto SV. The SV features more power and advanced aerodynamic and suspension technology, following in the tradition of track-focused predecessors. However, Lamborghini will not pursue a Nürburgring lap record with the SV.
The Revuelto SV’s press materials show the car lapping at Germany’s Hockenheimring. Lamborghini Revuelto product line director Alessandro Farmeschi stated that they use Nürburgring for testing, and they do not plan to attempt a record there.
Farmeschi explained that Hockenheimring was chosen because it provides a reference point that customers can replicate. He noted that the Nürburgring is a circuit with unique characteristics, while Hockenheimring is more approachable in terms of length and difficulty.
Hockenheimring’s 2.8-mile layout is indeed shorter than the Nürburgring’s 12.9-mile length, making it more accessible to owners with limited track experience. The decision not to attempt a ‘Ring record is unexpected, given that the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and Huracán Performante set records there.

Lamborghini claimed the Revuelto SV achieved a Hockenheim Grand Prix circuit lap of 1 minute, 41.6 seconds on August 6, calling it the “fastest lap ever recorded by a production car at the Hockenheimring.” However, this is still behind the Mercedes-AMG One’s 1 minute, 38.6 second lap from 2022.
A Lamborghini spokesperson clarified that their claim refers specifically to the Revuelto SV as the fastest production super sports car at Hockenheim, distinguishing it from the limited-production hypercar, the AMG One.
The Revuelto SV will be more affordable and numerous than the Mercedes-AMG One, which may be a factor in Lamborghini’s decision not to pursue a Nürburgring lap record. While a competition between the two would be exciting, it appears unlikely to happen. They seem to be focusing on a different approach, one that emphasizes accessibility and real-world performance.
Lamborghini’s focus on Hockenheimring is a deliberate choice, one that reflects their priorities for the Revuelto SV. By choosing a more accessible track, they are able to provide a more realistic benchmark for their customers. This approach may not generate the same level of attention as a Nürburgring record attempt, but it is a more practical and customer-centric approach.
